Funerals & Memorials
As a celebrant, I can conduct a non-religious or semi-religious, or a spiritual service. Usually this is within a crematorium and arranged via a funeral director, but there are many other options you may have considered which I can support.
I will create a personalised service, which will usually be balanced in acknowledging your sad loss and also celebrating life. However, I will always be guided by you and work with you to create a ceremony that you recognise, feel proud of and that reflects the life of the deceased.
If possible, I will meet with you in person, together with any other important people. Alternatively, if necessary, I can offer to do this by Zoom, WhatsApp Video or FaceTime.

It is a privilege to be able to support people at this time: to listen to and be part of the sharing of life-stories. I can gather information from you, to write a eulogy or tribute for you to approve. Equally, you may wish to write and deliver your own.
You may have clear choices about music (including hymns), but if not, I can help. Music can be set to photo tributes or videos. I can provide candles to light in celebration of the brightness of your loved one's life and the light they will continue to shine on you. This helps to involve children in the ceremony and especially those forced to view the ceremony from afar on the webcast, inviting them to join in this moment too by lighting a candle in their home.
We will discuss any readings, prayers and periods of reflection. You may have chosen some poetry of significance or you may like my daughter, Jessica, to write a bespoke poem based on your reflections and memories.
Family members and friends may want to take an active role in the ceremony, and I will be there to encourage, support and step in if necessary.
I can advise on practicalities, timings and create the order of service to be sent to the funeral director or yourself. If you prefer, I can arrange the design and print of these order of service booklets.
Whether your funeral or memorial is traditional or modern, religious or relaxed, big or small, I will dedicate my time to ensure that the life, stories and character of your loved one is celebrated in a way that is perfect for you.
