Weddings & Civil Ceremonies
As a professional celebrant, I can help to create the most special and bespoke ceremony to celebrate your marriage or civil partnership. Unlike a registrar, I have more time to get to know you, to understand your love story, and complete freedom to make your day what you want it to be.

As you are not restricted to “approved premises”, your ceremony can be anywhere: inside or out that is special and right for you: a garden, a secret woodland retreat, a country house, a beach or riverboat!

It can be as traditional or modern as you wish, but always personal, reflecting your beliefs, culture and traditions. You may wish to include rituals and mini ceremonies such as hand-fasting, ring-warming or lighting a unity candle.

A unity candle can be lit by the bride and groom with candles lit earlier by family members, like your mothers or grandparents, representing two families joining together.
Or, for a beautiful keepsake of your special day, you may like to write a love letter to open on an anniversary in the future - with a big bottle of bubbly!

If you have children, then we can embrace them within the ceremony in ways that will not detract from the moment of joining as a couple, but does reaffirm your family.
Age is no obstacle, a handprint on a certificate or sand- blending ceremony, and maybe a family blessing afterwards.

Your journey with me...
The starting point for me is always taking time to get to know each other so that you feel comfortable with the celebrant you choose (rather than a registrar you are assigned).
So let’s talk… share your vision, connect and be confident I am the right celebrant for you.
You may have a clear theme you wish to follow or require some guidance; I can offer ideas and help to make your ceremony unique.

Perhaps you have dogs that are an equally special part of your family; I am very happy to involve them too, whether that be walking down the aisle with you or a paw-print on your certificate!

Taking time to know you means that, if required, I can support you to write your vows and promises; and if you would like create a personal, beautifully crafted poem through our Bespoke Poetry Service, that can be arranged. I prepare a draft script and share that with you, ensuring you are 100% happy with everything, together with an Order of Service Card and Certificate to sign.

And on the day, my time is yours only- unlike a registrar who may have more than one ceremony a day. I am there to reassure both bridal party and groomsmen, making you feel comfortable and at ease.

Afterwards, all of the details for your ceremony are presented to you in a keepsake booklet, for a true happy-ever-after!

As a celebrant I offer the flexibility to create a unique and personalised celebration of love, but you will need to make the standard legal declarations and register your marriage with a registrar.

This means providing the normal notice of marriage or civil partnership and attending your local registry office for a brief ceremony which can be as little as £46 with two witnesses (or none if it is a civil partnership). For more information about the Suffolk Registrar Service, click here.
My fees start from £400, with no additional charges for certificates or dogs attending!
